The Big Picture

This is the first lesson in the module on risk. This lesson looks at the idea that there are different levels of risk.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this session, students will be able to carry out basic risk assessments on a range of activities.

Introduction

Whole class activity. Discuss the levels of risk and how they can make a difference to a decision about developing a new idea.

Display the accompanying PowerPoint – first slide. Ask students where they encounter risks and the level of those risks where they were asked to log their everyday risks.

Activity

Display the second slide from PowerPoint. Students work with a partner to complete the exercise as shown on the slide, they record their levels of risk on ‘Identifying the level of Risk’.
