The Big Picture

This is the third of four lessons on local labour markets. In order to research their career options properly, students need to have an understanding of what a local labour market is, why it is useful to access information relating to the local labour market and where they can access such information.

The Learning Outcomes

Students will be able to locate, read and understand official sources of information about the local labour market. This lesson focuses on accessing information about particular employment sectors.

Introduction

Ask the students to recall their activity in the previous lesson in which they researched the local labour market using formal sources of information from the perspective of their locality. In this lesson they will be accessing labour market information that relates to particular employment sectors.
