About the Long-term Consequences Lesson Plan

In the previous lesson a number of practical activities were undertaken by your students to engage them and therefore in this lesson plan the activities have been designed to be an extension of this lesson. Again the health triangle will be looked at to build upon their knowledge and further reinforce how alcohol relates to it. The lesson plan offers a number of challenging and interesting exercises to ensure a student’s attention is captured. However, it should be noted that the lesson still maintains and conveys the seriousness of the topic.

Aims

The aim of this lesson is to ensure that students understand the effects of alcohol abuse. This is specifically taught by looking at how alcohol can affect areas of the body such as the stomach, liver and heart. The area of alcoholism is covered in detail to ensure that students fully understand the subject as well as covering the area of alcohol abuse from a physical standpoint. The lesson also aims to put students learning into perspective by looking at real-life examples and famous people who have been affected by alcohol abuse.
