Convervation Volunteering Lesson Plan

The resources encourage the students to think of outdoor places that they know in their local area, and this leads onto thinking how well looked after those different places are. This is a good way of getting the pupils engaged and thinking about conservation before explicitly directing them to it, so the majority of the work is done by students.

Making use of worksheets and subsequent feedback, considering such topics as wildlife, plants and preservation, the students will then reflect on what they have learnt and whether conservation volunteering would interest them. The teaching resource finishes by having students create a conservation poster, bringing together all they have learnt in one final exercise. Teachers will have a thorough lesson to deliver, and links to the overall subject of Citizenship.
