Remembrance day assembly plan for the 11th of November.

The generation who fought in the second world war are now becoming the oldest section of society, and to remember the sacrifices that were made in both world wars, young people will need to commemorate Remembrance Day. This assembly plan references those soldiers who are currently fighting overseas and ends with a poem by Siegfried Sassoon.

More About the Assembly Plan

This assembly resource is for a very important day in both British and worldwide history. Remembrance Day is a key date in the calendar and all students will learn its significance and how it is still relevant today.

The PowerPoint that accompanies the assembly helps visually guide the students attending the assembly through a very sensitive subject, highlighting the various implications that war and conflict has had on the world.

The resource also encourages the students to spare a thought for those still at war today, and how we should remember the fallen who have fought so bravely for our countries and for peace.
