The Big Picture

This is the last of four lessons on the local labour market. It builds on previous research students have carried out on the subject, and encourages them to produce a display, presentation or play about an aspect of the local labour market.

The Learning Outcomes

Students are able to demonstrate what they have learnt about this subject.

Introduction

Explain to the students that they will be working on a display, presentation or play based on their local labour market past, present and future. Divide the group into three groups. Decide or let the students decide which group will be working on which topic – past, present or future.

Activity

Each group must spend a limited amount of time brainstorming and researching the local labour market as it was, as it currently is, or how it might be in the future. They must then decide whether they want to demonstrate this through a display, a presentation or a play.
