Introduction

To write the risk assessment, students need to follow the Health and Safety Executives process below. Today they will be writing up their risk assessment and their method statement.

Step 1: Identify the hazards
Step 2: Decide who might be harmed and how
Step 3: Evaluate the risks and decide on precaution
Step 4: Record your findings and implement them
Step 5: Review your assessment and update if necessary

Re-familiarise them with the steps above by creating a memory hook acronym based on the letters IDERR (taken from the list above).
