Job Applications Lesson Information

Recap on any previous learning done on work experience or job applications. Ask if anyone has ever had to apply for a job.

The Big Picture

This is the first lesson of four looking at the job application process. This lesson explores job applications and their purpose.

The Learning Outcomes

This session should encourage students to think about their skills and how they could match them with a job they would like to do.

Introduction

In this session the students will be asked to think about what employers are looking for from job applicants with video clips for reference.

Starter Activity

As a class, ask the students to draw up a list of five qualities that employers would most like to see from job applicants, based on what the employers in the video clips have said about work experience candidates. Write these qualities on the board. Ask the students to identify which of the qualities they feel they have and write them down.
