About the Final Session Lesson Plan

This lesson plan looks at developing a youth action plan on alcohol and is about raising your student’s awareness on the social cost of alcohol. The lesson comprises a mixture of teacher-led discussion which starts by reminding students of the health triangle and recapping the Governments role in tackling the problem of alcohol abuse in society. The lesson then has a number of group tasks to get students to think about the Government priorities when it comes to handling the problem of alcohol abuse. The students are asked to develop a youth action plan and a strategy to curb youth drinking and alcohol abuse as a whole. This lesson has been developed to get students to think creatively and get them to develop new ideas and concepts.

Aims

The Final Session lesson plan has two aims. Firstly, it wants to recap on the learning taught in the previous lessons and remind students of the social consequences of drinking in relation to the health triangle. Secondly, it wants to highlight to students how the Government is tackling the area of youth drinking. It is also the ideal lesson for teachers to see whether students have any additional questions or learning requirements.
