Learning Outcomes

By the end of this session, students will be able to describe how people have coped with the changes in the world of work in the UK.

Introduction

Students to contribute to a whole class discussion, completing the PowerPoint document by selecting who they think made each statement and whether they really said it or whether the press might have ‘edited’ it.

Discuss how attitudes towards a situation can influence positive/negative outcomes.

Activity

Explain that they are going to read through the document ‘Advice’. This is an extract from a Government document on supporting flexibility in the workforce that outlines the different types of work available through regeneration of the work force in urban and rural areas where the world of work has changed significantly.

They should use the document to help them to create a single-sided A4 leaflet for adults that itemises changes to the types of work they may be asked to do.
