This unit can be taught as a whole day event suitable for an Enterprise Day, a KS4 enrichment day or as six 45 minute sessions as part of an enterprise programme. Link to previous learning on the topic of business studies, finance and work-related learning.
The Big Picture
Students will have the opportunity to work in groups to take part in the buying and selling of shares. Each group will form a company and think of a product, name and logo for their company. In this lesson they will be launching the companies on the stock market. Students in each group make a short presentation followed by the initial buying and selling of shares in each company.

How does the stock exchange work? The teacher plays the quiz with the whole class inviting responses to market situations predicting when shares will go higher or lower in price.
