Recap on the previous lesson which explored how risk changes over time.

The Big Picture

This lesson looks at how to report on risk.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this session, students will understand which information about levels of risk is needed by different sectors of workers.

Introduction

Whole class activity. Run the video case studies, particularly the sections that make reference to risks taken.

Display the accompanying PowerPoint. Discuss the different levels of risk and how risks should be reported between the levels of management and administration in a business.

Activity

Keep the display of the PowerPoint as reference for the students to use within their brainstorming ideas. Students make use of Case Study Risk Management Communications to help them to create a brainstorm chart showing the different levels of information about risk as a data flow diagram. For example, ‘Ensure that appropriate levels of awareness of risks are communicated throughout the organisation’ would be at management level.
