By the end of this session, the students will be able to understand what kind of changes affect the working life of individuals.
Introduction
Display PowerPoint - Whole class activity.
Ask each student to identify one fact about things they believed in when they were five and one more when they were 10. Ask them to recall whether those beliefs seem rational now and whether they think there are things they believe now that will change in the future. Press them for their ideas.
Describe aspects of stability in jobs and how years ago, people rarely changed jobs. Industries like coal mining, ship building and manufacturing would employ generations of the same families.
