Enterprise Week Assembly

This assembly resource for Enterprise Week is a great way of getting students involved in business and enterprise, and stimulates ideas to use during Enterprise Week. The assembly materials include a script for teachers and a PowerPoint presentation, and links to Work-related Learning and Business Studies.

The assembly plan begins by defining the term ‘enterprise,’ and goes on to other relatable key terms such as creativity and innovation, as well as having the right attitude. The example of James Dyson is given, and the assembly script explains how he took risks during the development of his idea for a new kind of vacuum cleaner. The assembly engages students to think of other people who are successful in their respective fields, encouraging pupil participation. The assembly resource looks at other areas of enterprise, such as any financial strains that might occur.

The idea of Enterprise Week is then explained to the students, and examples are given of what some schools have done in the past during the week. The assembly can be made unique to each school by incorporating school ideas and definitions within the PowerPoint presentation, and finishes with three simple things that students can do to contribute to Enterprise Week.
