Transitions Assembly

Introduce the idea of transition – starting something new, with your new year 7 students. This assembly is for KS3 year 7 students who have just started secondary school. It covers all the new possibilities, ideas and situations they may come across. It touches on emotions, events and also changes to their lives. This assembly can be linked with the School Uniform assembly. It is important that students are aware of the meanings, values and roles that the uniform plays as well as knowing about new environments.

Transitions Assembly Plan

This assembly idea comes with a full teacher script and PowerPoint presentation. It can be used as part of a PSHE programme of study.

This assembly begins by explaining why it can be exiting to begin high school but how it can also be a little daunting. Worries are covered and responsibilities introduced. Tips, facts and information are presented throughout.

Students will be made aware that they all may have fears about the same sort of transitions and that it isn’t anything to be afraid of. They are made to feel welcome and are invited to enjoy their time at the school as well as working hard.
