This is the first of a series of 3 lessons which introduces students to labour market information and the local labour market. Students will learn about the definition of a labour market and why this is an important source of information when thinking about career planning. Below is an extract from the teacher guidance:

Connect the Learning This session is connected to learning you have previously experienced as part of your diploma course which requires you to have a solid understanding of the local labour market.

The Big Picture There will be two sessions to enable you to acquire further knowledge and understanding. Session 1 will look at the key concepts and definition of LMI whilst session 2 will look at the local labour market statistics.

Learning Outcomes The concepts of supply and demand relating to the labour market. That individuals as workers are often inter-dependent and connected by economics.
